Hello Friends, Today I have the pleasure to talk to Margyyah, a Death Metal Band from Singapur, very raw stuff.
Hi guys, let’s talk a little about the beginnings of the band. How was Margyyah created?
Margyyah was formed in the year 1998. During that time, we have the same liking for extreme music and bands such as Deicide, Nile, Cannibal Corpse, and Behemoth etc. So we decided to form a band to the liking of our interest. The name “Margyyah” means death/die in Hindi language.
How was the design and creation process of the album?
For the album design and layout, we started by sourcing our artwork from different designer to suite our music concept. The final front cover was design from Ironworxgravefix. After which we work closely with another graphic designer to come up with a unique concept for the final booklet layout for the fans.
The Truth is your new album, what are we going to find on it?
Our debut album consists of Middle Eastern essence incorporated with our death metal style of music. Basically our album “The Truth” conveys to the world that most of the history written in ancient scripture by historians are mostly lies and deceptions.
In your opinion, which are the stronger points of the band?
Mostly our strong points are communication, interest and band cohesiveness.
What are your musical influences?
Our main influence bands are Deicide, Nile, Cannibal Corpse, and Behemoth etc.
My Favourite Song is Aris Bloodbath, what is yours?
All the songs in our debut are our favorite but “Sands Of Mur’rah” is special to us due to its lyrical and musical esthetics.
What themes do you touch in your lyrics?
Our themes for the lyrics are mostly to convey the truth that ancient history does not proclaim to the mainstream that their deception is to profit their personal gain.
I like very much the sound of the album, dark, very raw and old school, the atmosphere is pretty dark, what do you think?
Thanks for the complements. We try as much as possible to make the listeners feel the songs by creating an atmosphere that suits our lyrical content. It’s like conveying a message through music.
The band mixed Death old school, Thrash, Brutal… it’s very great the mixed of styles and the solos of the album are very original, clean and melodic in some songs. What do you think about this?
We have to appreciate the roots our Death metal music to come out with new generation of death metal music. That’s is why we incorporate old and new for our music.
How do you see the current scene of the Death metal in your country?
In Singapore metal scene is doing great, we are doing our best to gather the scene as one in Singapore.
